“How You Too Can Make Incredible Music That Everyone Adores And That You’re Proud To Play”

From: Mike Kennedy

RE: Making incredible music

Dear Friend,

If you’d like to make incredible music and become a confident guitarist, this might be the most important page you’re going to read in a long time…

That’s because I’m going to share a story about how I went from being a clumsy beginner to a confident guitarist and how, in just a few short weeks you can be playing any song you like, you can become a guitarist who plays effortless solos, who can improvise and jam with other musicians, a guitarist who understands how everything fits together and who confidently knows their way around the fretboard.

1

I Think I’m A Lot Like You…

I wasn’t always the guy teaching thousands of people how to make incredible music on the guitar.

And frankly, not too long ago I was a pretty mediocre guitarist myself.

I was never much of an artist. I couldn’t draw or write poetry and I always felt like the traditional art forms were out of my reach.

But I still wanted to express myself and develop the creative side of my personality and that’s why I loved playing the guitar so much.

It’s so rewarding to play music that you love, to express yourself, to feel music flowing through you, it’s almost a spiritual connection at times, especially when you’re improvising or jamming or writing your own music.

To me, the best feeling in the world is to kick back and bliss out with an acoustic guitar or plug-in and rock out with an electric guitar. There are so many ways to play the guitar and I think it’s versatility is one of the reasons I instantly loved it so much.

So as you can see, I always loved playing the guitar. But things didn’t always work out as I wished they would.

I Wasn’t Making Any Progress And Things Just Didn’t Sound Musical Enough

2

Sometimes I felt that I wasn’t making any progress at all, and I that I just didn’t have enough talent to learn the guitar.

My strumming sounded clumsy and muddy and just not musical. I couldn’t afford to pay for guitar lessons so I just blundered along. My fingers hurt and things never sounded right.

I didn’t understand how everything fitted together and looking back, I cringe at how much harder I made things for myself because I didn’t know some of the basic fundamentals.

I really wanted to learn guitar, but I felt like the odds were stacked against me. And my progress didn’t live up to my expectations.

My friend learned quicker than me… Was he just more talented?

3
What made things worse for me was that I had a friend who started learning guitar at the same time as me, he was learning quicker and it was frustrating that he progressed so much faster. I had a 1:1 comparison for how awful I was!

At first, I thought he was just more talented than me, but I knew he had a guitar teacher and week after week I could see that he was being taught techniques that were accelerating his progress, so I went on a learning spree.

For the next 3 years I read everything there is to read about learning guitar. I read every book. Every website. I spoke with guitarists and guitar teachers. I interviewed them and asked them step by step how to do EVERYTHING.

Then I Made A Breakthrough…

I made a huge breakthrough when I learned that there are certain ‘pillars’ that needs to be in place for people to successfully learn the guitar. There are certain techniques and milestones that have be in place for people to succeed.

All this learning took a lot of time and hard work, but I become a knowledgable guitarist, but that, in turn, made me a skilled guitarist too. I became one of those people that OTHER people think has a ‘special talent’. But nothing could be further from the truth!! There was ZERO talent. It was all hard work.

Now I Wanted To Take Things To The Next Level

5At this time in my life, I lived and breathed music. I was constantly going to gigs and music festivals and I had an epic music collection filled with classic albums and the newest bands. I worked in a music store and had access to EVERYTHING, the combined knowledge of all the employees’ music wisdom as well as the actual CDs, it was so cool!

I started a band. So my days were filled with music as I worked at the music store and when I started a band my nights were filled with music too.

We’d jam together for hours, and I mean HOURS, in a disused barn. We sucked so badly to begin with, but through sheer hard work and love of music we got a better and better. We gigged like crazy and ended up super-tight. There were more talented bands than us, but there were no bands who worked harder than us or who loved music more than us.

My guitar-playing got better and better. As a band, we got good.

Touring & Recording With The Band

4

We became the resident band at The Cavern in Liverpool – the first resident band since the Beatles (Wow, no pressure!). We played live sessions for the BBC and gigged all over the UK and Europe.

We had some cool adventures with the band over the years and were lucky enough to enjoy some real highlights including recording an album in New York City with some industry legends producing our first record: Danny ‘Kootch’ Kortchmar (Billy Joel, Carole King, John Lennon), Will Schillinger (The Beastie Boys, Aerosmith, The Ramones) and grammy award winning sound engineer Matt Shane (Flight of the Conchords).

Here’s a short vid-doc which was filmed during our third trip to the US and captures 24 hours in the life of the band.

The end of the band. The start of a new era!

When the band folded, I knew I wanted to keep music in my life so I started teaching the guitar. I quickly realised that I had a talent for it. My years of studying the guitar and gigging with other guitarists had given me a brilliant understanding of the instrument.

I realised quickly that I had a gift for teaching guitar. My students made insane progress!! This meant that my students stuck to me like glue, they loved me and none of my students would leave, so I became very busy. In fact my diary was FULL. I was turning people away and that made me feel terrible. I’m not in the business of turning people away, my mission is to spread the gift of music as far and wide as possible!!!

The birth of the Chester Guitar Academy

6So I decided to reach out to other guitar teachers and ask them if they wanted to join me. I founded the Chester Guitar Academy, a musical movement in the city. It’s a guitar-teaching machine. We currently have 12 teachers on our team and our student base is over 200 people.

It occurred to me after a while, ‘why only teach people locally?’. Let’s share all the fantastic guitar-teaching knowledge we have with the whole world!

The National Guitar Academy Was Born

So I founded the National Guitar Academy, a 100% online guitar teaching business, and now we teach people to become better guitarists from all over the world.

And here you are on our site. Welcome!

What Have I Learned During All My Guitar Adventures That Can Help You?

Firstly, people who are successful in learning guitar don’t learn by watching youtube videos or doing random internet searches. They learn in a more sequential and intelligent way than that.

They learn specific techniques, in a specific way. There is no ‘magic’ involved. Success is a natural result of following this system!

Why can some people learn the guitar and flourish? Why do most people fail? Guitarists use proven techniques to create predictable results.  There are tried and tested techniques, proven methods that you can use to GUARANTEE you can learn the guitar.

There Are Specific Techniques That All Successful Guitar-Learners Use

Now you can do what I did. You can spend years learning and reading about the guitar. You can form a band, create a guitar school, spend years learning. That will work for you, but it will take a lot of time!

I wanted to create an easier option for people like you. I wanted to create a simple, fast and effective programme that teaches guitar learners in a clear step-by-step sequence. I wanted to take the confusion and frustration OUT of the process and replace it with clarity and simplicity.

I want to make it EASY for people to learn the guitar in a fraction of the time I did. And that’s why I created something unique.

“Just wanted to drop you a message to say how much me and my son enjoyed following your course (we both did it together during the school break). Really loved your no-nonsense approach and to-the-point advice…. No waffle just incredibly useful tips and guidance! Thought I’d let you know of our success.”

– Mick, Lincoln UK

“I bought this course for my 18year old brother as he really wanted to learn how to play but didn’t want to be tied to a teacher/ location with a weekly lesson so kept on putting it off. He has found it extremely helpful and easy to follow. I know it’s working as he even played part of a song for me on my last trip to see him! Money well spent for a brother who’s difficult to buy for for, many thanks.”
– Ruth, Atlanta USA

“Superb course obviously made by someone who knows the difficulties of learning to play the guitar. I have lost patience with many books and myself over the years and have never quite got the time to book into guitar lessons. This has been perfect for me and not only can I play but I’ve enjoyed it too. Thanks for this, I’ll be recommending to my fellow frustrated guitar playing friends!”
– Charlie, Lancashire UK

A Similar Course At A College Would Cost You Thousands Of Dollars

And to hire a world-class guitar teacher is expensive too. Even ff you could find one in your area it would probably cost around $100 an hour.

There are around 10 hours of high-quality video lessons inside GuitarFire so those lessons alone would cost you at least $1000. (And by the way that’s excluding almost $1000 of free bonuses).

The good news is that you won’t have to pay $1000 to join this course…

But first, I have to warn you about something.

Here’s What My Students Are Saying

This course is so easy to use and I love that I can do as much or little as I like each day in my own time. Really easy to follow guides with clear instructions displayed in a variety of ways to keep it interesting. I have tried to teach myself guitar before using books but this has been different and I’ve felt like I’ve had my own personal teacher. I only wish I’d found it sooner. Thankyou!
– Ward, North Carolina USA

Hi Mike, some customer feedback for you: I bought your book a while ago and was very sceptical about learning “quickly”! But I stand corrected it totally worked. Your personal style was so refreshing and the “no-nonsense plain English” methods that you talk about really resonated with me. I can’t tell you how much time I think I must have saved by buying your course. Thanks so much, just wanted to feed back!x
– Zoe, Perth Australia

This is an email for Mike Kennedy to let him know how brilliant I thought his guide was – seriously – I start uni in a few weeks and spent the summer learning electric guitar so I could impress girls when I start lol. Keep the faith Mike you old devil. Thanks bro!!

Do I have to show up at a particular place or a particular time?

No, the entire course happens online, and you can take it from any place where you have an internet connection. All lectures are prerecorded so you can watch them at any time that works for you.

Of course, you can also enjoy all the lectures on your smartphone or tablet.

Does the course need to be downloaded? Does it take up memory on my computer/phone/tablet?

No. The course is hosted entirely on our servers. You don’t need to download anything and it won’t take up any memory on your device.

Is the course transferable from one device to another?

Yes. You simply access the course on our website from whatever device you want to use.

Is there a time limit on accessing the course?

No. You have lifetime access and are free to progress through the course at your own pace.

How much time do I need in order to take this course?

You can spend as much or as little time as you want, and you get lifetime access to all course materials, so there is no reason to complete the course within a certain time period.

You can follow the course at your own pace and always come back to the videos later when you want to revisit the material or work on improving certain aspects of your guitar playing.

Even if the timing is not right for you, I still encourage you to sign up because the registration won’t open again anytime soon (and when it does, the price will likely be higher).

What happens after the course ends?

You keep lifetime access to all course content, as well as free lifetime updates.

That means you can always review the material in the future, and you’ll have plenty of time to catch up in case you fall behind.

What if I’m not good with technology?

The majority of GuitarFire students are not good with technology, and even if you feel like you know nothing about technology, you won’t feel left out.

All technical concepts are described in simple terms while avoiding unnecessary jargon, which allows people from all age groups to successfully participate in GuitarFire.

And just in case you get stuck, you can always ask any questions, which will be promptly answered either by me or one of my team members.

Technology should not stand in the way of your creativity! 🙂

What if I’m really terrible on guitar?

You don’t need any previous guitar experience to join GuitarFire. All the lectures start from the very beginning while gradually progressing into advanced topics.

The course is specially designed for beginner-to-intermediate guitarists. There are no prerequisites and anyone can learn to play the guitar.

Even if you think you have no talent or artistic ability, you’ll be able to play the guitar by applying the specific techniques that you’re going to discover in GuitarFire.

What if I’m already an experienced guitarist?

If you’ve been actively studying guitar for several years, you’re probably going to be familiar with some of the ideas and techniques that are discussed in this course.

With that said, I’ve learned over the years that you can always pick up new things from other guitarists. Always. There’s always a lick, riff, springboard, idea or concept that you can take and implement into your own playing.

If you’re worried that you might already know everything I teach, I encourage you to sign up, go through the first few modules, and ask for a refund if you’re not learning new things.

No matter how much experience you already have, there are always more things to learn!

Does it make any difference if I have an acoustic or electric guitar?

It makes no difference at all. Guitar is guitar! Of course, the lessons that cover electric guitar specifically will not be appropriate for acoustic-only players, but I encourage all my students to take an interest in BOTH.

You are not a well rounded guitarist unless you play both. Why only experience half of the joy of guitar? Play acoustically and amplified!

Does GuitarFire cover bass guitar?

Yes and no. It isn’t a bass-specific course, but 90% of the GuitarFire lessons still apply for bass guitar. (Basically, everything that isn’t chord-based.)

What if I don’t have a guitar?

Beg, borrow, steal… Do whatcha have to do to get one! (You can’t learn guitar without playing guitar.)

Why is there a deadline for registration?

Experience has shown that students form a more active community when many people are completing the course at the same time, which helps them further improve their photos.

I don’t know when the registration will open again, but it’s probably not going to happen anytime soon because I’ll be busy delivering a world-class experience to my current students.

Even if the timing is not perfect, I still recommend that you join the course now since you get lifetime access to all the lectures, and registration won’t open again anytime soon.

Why is the price in US dollars? How much does the course cost in British pounds?

The majority of our students are in the US so that’s why we price in dollars.

The USD dollar v GBP pound exchange rate changes frequently. To see how much GuitarFire costs in pounds based on today’s exchange rate click here.

About your teacher

You can learn more about my background by visiting our ‘about us’ page, but briefly, I’ve been playing and teaching guitar for over 20 years.

For most of my twenties I was the lead singer, guitarist & songwriter in a rock band (The Mags). I’m the owner of the Chester Guitar Academy & the founder of the UK National Guitar Academy. I’m the author of Guitar Chords For Beginners.

I’ve spent tens of thousands of hours teaching people how to play the guitar and I’ve learnt what gets results quickly. GuitarFire basically contains everything I’ve learnt – all the things that work for guitar learners.

More cool stuff for you

✓  Use any device you want – Your course is 100% responsive, which means you can use a PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or TV to access your lessons.

✓  Total flexibility – You can take your course modules in any order you want, or you can choose to follow a structured programme. It’s up to you.

✓  It’ll be fun! My teaching style is laid-back, accessible and very clear. You’ll enjoy your lessons!

✓  Be Smart – You can go it alone & try watching random YouTube videos or you can learn from a professional & benefit from over 40,000 hours of guitar teaching experience. Which option makes the most sense? 🙂

What’s inside the course?

60 high-quality HD video lessons

You can see a full course index, with more details of every video lesson by clicking here.

Don’t rely on YouTube for your guitar education!

I own 2 guitar teaching schools and almost all of our new students say the same thing when they come to us:

“I’ve been using youTube to try and learn guitar, but I don’t feel I’m making good progress and I don’t really understand how everything fits together.”

YouTube-logo (SMALL)

I always reply the same way: “There are lots of great guitarists on YouTube, but there aren’t many great guitar teachers, and there’s a big difference between those two things.”

Another big problem with YouTube is the lessons are mostly random and lack an overall structure. You need to learn in a more sequential and structured way than watching ad hoc videos on YouTube. (C’mon dude, you know this is true…!)

GuitarFire will give you real results, your progress will be fast and it’ll be a fun journey. Let’s do it!
